What a comeback: "Donald Trump Impacts the word"

We are a group of students of international relations interested in analyzing how global leadership shapes the international system. This blog focuses on the impact of Donald Trump’s foreign policy, both during his previous administration and after his return to office in 2025.

International politics plays a fundamental role in shaping the global order, as the decisions made by powerful countries influence not only their own societies but also the rest of the world. In this sense, the foreign policy of recently elected US presidents, such as Donald Trump and his predecessor Joe Biden, has played a crucial role in redefining international relations and global strategies (Silva,2025)

As we know, the Trump administration generated significant international reactions and affected multilateral agreements and diplomatic relations. We want to illustrate this point with the following news items that show how radical Trump's policies were, such as the United States' withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change, tensions with traditional allies within NATO, and the imposition of tariffs during the trade conflict with China. As a result of his actions, the international system experienced moments of uncertainty and tension, highlighting the importance of global leadership.

Trump imposes 25% tariffs on countries that trade with Iran. This could include China.

So in that way our blog seeks to analyze the main foreign policy decisions implemented during Trump's administration, evaluate their impact on global stability and examine the role of the US as a global power. Also, we want to identify the effects of these policies on international organizations and multilateral agreements.

Ultimately, this blog will provide you with a critical perspective on how political leadership can change international relations and challenge existing global structures, allowing for a deep understanding of current global challenges and the future of international cooperation.
